Owls Midfielders In Team Of The Week

Wednesday midfield duo Chris Sedgwick and Gary Teale have both made it into the npower League One team of the week for their performance against Bristol Rovers at the weekend.

Both players were key cogs in the Owls' 6-2 demolition of the Pirates at Hillsborough - the Owls' biggest result in seven years and one which sent them second in the league table.

Sedgwick scored the leveller and Teale also scored in the first-half, while both were influential in the other four goals for Alan Irvine's men.

The only surprise from the weekly selection by the Football League was that they were the only two representatives for Wednesday in what was a superb all-round team performance.

Clinton Morrison won the man-of-the-match accolade but missed out in the team of the week, while Jermaine Johnson also excelled.

The full team is:

Alex Smithies (Huddersfield), Craig Alcock (Yeovil), Mike Edwards (Notts County), Mark Arber (Dag & Red), Oluwafemi Ilesanmi (Dag & Red), Chris Segwick (Wednesday), Stephen Dawson (Leyton Orient), Matthew Richards (Walsall), Gary Teale (Wednesday), Bradley Wright-Phillips (Plymouth), James Brown (Hartlepool).

Just wondering, heard it mentioned on the bbc and again here that it was our biggest win for 7 years, but surely 5-0 at hartlepool is a bigger win? Unless you mean most goals scored, as in since the 7-2 at burnley?
