Mandaric Deal Approved By Owls

Mandaric Deal Approved By Owls

Milan Mandaric's takeover of Wednesday has been officially confirmed, after shareholders gave the go-ahead at today's EGM at Hillsborough.

A whopping 99.7 per cent voted in favour of the former Leicester City and Portsmouth chairman taking over at Hillsborough today.

Around 250 shareholders of the Owls gathered at the stadium to rubber-stamp Mandaric's takeover deal.

The meeting took less than 15 minutes to confirm Mandaric as the club's new owner, with a press conference called immediately after.

Mandaric said: 'I thank you for your votes and your trust.

'I will do everything I can not to let you down. We are going to be in the same boat, we are going to be loyal, it's not going to be me. It's going to be us.'

Mandaric attended a Wednesday game at Hillsborough for the first time on Saturday as the Owls ran out emphatic 6-2 victors against Bristol Rovers in npower League One on Saturday.

His first game in the official capacity as Owls chairman will be at Exeter this Saturday, where Wednesday could go to the top-of-the-table.

i saw that, in 3 weeks we have cut their lead from 14 to 3 points, they will end up struggling to make the play offs. we are second and i honestly dont think we have got really going yet. on a more positive move, the club have fired off the pink kit idea and replaced it with grey.
