Mandaric Deal Approved By Owls

Milan Mandaric's takeover of Wednesday has been officially confirmed, after shareholders gave the go-ahead at today's EGM at Hillsborough.

A whopping 99.7 per cent voted in favour of the former Leicester City and Portsmouth chairman taking over at Hillsborough today.

Around 250 shareholders of the Owls gathered at the stadium to rubber-stamp Mandaric's takeover deal.

The meeting took less than 15 minutes to confirm Mandaric as the club's new owner, with a press conference called immediately after.

Mandaric said: 'I thank you for your votes and your trust.

'I will do everything I can not to let you down. We are going to be in the same boat, we are going to be loyal, it's not going to be me. It's going to be us.'

Mandaric attended a Wednesday game at Hillsborough for the first time on Saturday as the Owls ran out emphatic 6-2 victors against Bristol Rovers in npower League One on Saturday.

His first game in the official capacity as Owls chairman will be at Exeter this Saturday, where Wednesday could go to the top-of-the-table.

i saw that, in 3 weeks we have cut their lead from 14 to 3 points, they will end up struggling to make the play offs. we are second and i honestly dont think we have got really going yet. on a more positive move, the club have fired off the pink kit idea and replaced it with grey.

I've yearned for this day for blooming years, what a christmas present. Once I heard MM was interested he was the only one for me, still can't quite believe it's happened after all those false dawns. I'd love a crystal ball to see where we'll be in 5 years, if MM has his way it will be top 10 in the prem and he often gets what he wants, be nice to see us on MOTD again!
sussexowl
i don't think we've really got going yet either. we have accumulated a good points haul and we seem to be gelling better now, i can only see us getting better

DEZZYP! Use your imagination! The 0.3% was the left index finger missing above the knuckle from Dave Allen. After so many false dawns TODAY IS THE DAY!! Living in exile as I do and married to a Non Sheffielder How do I explain that I am like my Dad, who on a Sunday morning, would not eat his usual Bacon and Eggs if the Blunts had won and we had lost the previous day as to see red and white stripes on the plate curdled the milk in his cup of tea! Milan Mandaric now has the opportunity to become as influential a figure in our illustrious club as Eric Taylor. The January transfer window will be almost as important a milestone as today. The potential signings will give a good indication of the committment, passion and determination to gain promotion this season. I hope MM allows AI to sign imaginative players who want to play for our club and not just pick up a very good wage whilst being benchwarmers, goodness knows we have had more than our fair share of those over the past 10 years. We have kept the faith for decades Let's assure ourselves of promotion by scaring the human fertilzer out of opposing teams coming to 'Fortress Hillsborough' UTO! and RFTB!
tommacandernie
