Otsemobor Set For Tranmere Return

Defender Jon Otsemobor is set to give Wednesday a boost by returning for the Boxing Day clash against Tranmere Rovers.

The right-back has been sidelined since mid-November after sustaining a calf strain in the Owls' 4-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Hartlepool United.

But the former Liverpool man has returned to training this week and is expected to get the nod to return for the npower League One trip to Prenton Park on Sunday.

It means Daniel Jones, a left-back, will give way for Otsemobor, giving Alan Irvine's men a more balanced back-four.

Irvine told the Sheffield Star: 'I'm hoping Jon will be back for the weekend. It has been a frustrating time for him and he has been a big miss for us. It would be great if he was back for us because Daniel Jones and Tommy Spurr have done their best at right-back but it is not their natural position.'

Lewis Buxton is still a few weeks away from returning.
