Owls' Boxing Day Clash Postponed

Wednesday's Boxing Day game against Tranmere Rovers has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at Prenton Park.

The Birkenhead club held a a pitch inspection at the ground this morning (Thursday) and decided that the pitch wouldn't be playable ahead of Sunday's npower League 1 game.

A date has yet to be announced for a re-arranged game, but as soon as one is confirmed you'll be able to find it right here at Vital Wednesday.

Wednesday's next game, weather permitting, will be on Tuesday, December 28 when they host Yeovil Town at Hillsborough.

Unless more heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures arrive, that clash should get the green light.

If anything, today's postponement could be a blessing in disguise for Wednesday as they go into the traditionally hectic festive period.

The Owls host Yeovil on Tuesday, December 28 before welcoming Peterborough United to S6 on New Year's Day and travelling to Huddersfield Town on Monday, January 3.

Well i suppose it's a good thing, last two matches we thought might not be on were played, and we got hammered 5-1 and 3-1, so lets watch how the other teams at the top go on.
