Wednesday Remain In Second Spot

Wednesday remain in second spot in npower League One this afternoon, despite their home clash against Yeovil Town being postponed due to burst pipes at Hillsborough.

The Owls have seen all of their festive fixtures called off until the Monday, January 3 clash at promotion rivals Huddersfield Town.

But Town failed to leapfrog the Owls today as they slipped to a heavy 4-1 defeat at Southampton, leaving the Owls in the automatic promotion places.

It's the second time in three days Lee Clark's men have missed the chance to climb above Wednesday, after the fell to a shock 1-0 home loss against Hartlepool United on Boxing Day.

The majority of League One games fell victim of the wintry weather today.

But elsewhere, Plymouth Argyle were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Notts County, while Swindon Town were on track for the same scoreline at home against Peterborough United.
