Owls To Swoop For Foxes Defender

Wednesday are set to swoop for Leicester City defender Michael Morrison in January, according to reports today.

Owls boss Alan Irvine is weighing-up his options to bolster his squad in the January transfer window and The Mirror is today reporting that the 22-year-old is set for a move to Hillsborough.

The centre-back, who can also play at full-back, played for the Foxes in their 2-0 defeat at Millwall in the npower Championship yesterday but could cash-in on him when the transfer window opens on Saturday.

The former Cambridge United defender has struggled to hold down a first-team spot at the Walkers Stadium under boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The fee reported in The Mirror is £250,000 and Morrison could be one of a number of new arrivals in January.

Irvine is keen to bolster his defence, especially after they conceded five at Exeter City last time out.

Think he is a centre-back by trade, but has been playing at full-back for Leicester recently.

good to see him looking for promising young players rather than has beens such as purse

the defender has struggled to hold down a first-team spot at the Walkers Stadium is that the sort of player we should be looking for ?

its just come on skys website, looks like this could be happening. apparently he had trials with newcastle and chelsea so he must have a little something about him. agree with wednesdayforlife, good that we are looking at young hungry players for the future, plenty of experience already at the club.

competition for places is good I'd rather see an old war horse centre half though I know we got Purse but somebody with a bit more pedigree - and yes this is the return of BIG TONY!

We don't need a FB, but used as a CB then this would be a good buy.
