Owls Boss Rejects Fallon Links

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has rejected reports linking him with a move for Plymouth Argyle striker Rory Fallon.

Reports last week indicated the Owls were keen to take the New Zealand international, who is currently on loan at Ipswich Town, to Hillsborough in the January transfer window.

But Irvine has rejected those rumours and insists Wednesday have not made an inquiry for the forward.

'We have not made an approach to Plymouth about Fallon,' he told the Sheffield Star.

'I'm well aware of Fallon; I have actually known about him since he was a youth team player at Barnsley when I was at Newcastle. He is a good player but we have not made an inquiry for him.'

Fallon is on-loan with the Tractor Boys until Saturday, January 15, and Ipswich boss Roy Keane could well move to make the deal a permanent one.

And he looks likely to do it without Wednesday also battling for his services, as Irvine turns his attentions elsewhere to bolster his squad this month.
