Palmer Pens New Owls Deal

Hot prospect Liam Palmer has pledged his future to Wednesday by signing a new and improved contract at Hillsborough.

The young midfielder, who has been involved in the Owls' first team squad this season, has agreed a new deal which will keep him at Wednesday until 2013.

Palmer is arguably the brightest prospect to come through the Owls Academy of late and made his first team debut in Wednesday's Carling Cup victory over Bury in August.

He's also appeared four times in npower League One this season - all from the substitutes bench.

But the Owls have high hopes for Palmer, who has also been called-up for the Scotland U19s squad, something mirrored in the extended deal for the youngster.

Good player, hopefully we'll see more of him over next couple of years.

From the little I've seen of Palmer he seems to have more creative awareness than our other midfielders. I think a loan move would be best for his development

i'd keep him at ours and give him a little more game time. I'd certainly put him ahead of potter and o'connor. Whats that expression? sink or swim.

Wouldn't send him out on loan. Guarrentee he'd leave and join on a permanent knowing our luck. Irvine would probably say he's expendable because we've got super midfielders like Potter and O'Connor lol.

i went out to austria this summer for the friendly and he was the best player on the pitch, yea i know it was against a semi-pro side but he looked class. give him game time
