Foxes' Morrison Having Owls Medical

Leicester City defender Michael Morrison is all set for a move to Wednesday with reports indicating he's having a medical in S6 today.

The former Cambridge United man is understood to be at Hillsborough today and is ready to complete a move from the Walkers Stadium, according to BBC Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer.

Morrison has been keen for a move away from Leicester ever since Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson failed to guarantee him a starting role with the npower Championship side.

The fee is understood to be around the 250,000 mark but the deal is expected to be undisclosed.

The deal is expected to go through within the next 24 hours and Morrison will follow Reda Johnson as the second defender to arrive at Wednesday since the January transfer window opened.

Looks like we're getting a whole new defence! Good signing by all accounts though so fingers crossed it'll go through with no problems
newman87
Any idea what position he plays?
bluedog
Centre half who can do right full
McQuaid-Owls
He looks a good defender when ive seen him for Leicester.Still cant believe we are buying players for money again-it seems so long since we had any to spend.
leons gloves
So what's the defense going to be now then...? Morrison Johnson Purse Buxton would be my choice but we have more options so im sure opinion will be divided.
chapowl
another solid signing who looks like his best years are still in front of him, UTO. Centre Mid and striker next please
Aston_Owl
PURSE a big no no
ollyowl70
Prefer Beevers to Purse, but plenty of options for AI now.We must start winning again.
leons gloves
Im actually quite excited with us buying two young prospects, despite the fact iv never seen either play. If the fee's reported are to be believed all we have done is re-invest the tudgay fee. Agree with Aston-owl, another midfielder and striker please.
DEZZYP
Anyone no where Beevers is off to ?
owls1961
another good signing we have good competiton for cb places now. i agree with leons gloves i prefer beevers, thought he was a cracking player when partnered with wood, so he is pair with one of these new players i feel he will get back to his best. main thing he needs to improve on is his distribution. midfielder(maybe another winger) and another striker, then we can push on!

milan says he wants to bring in 6 or 7 new faces in, in the transfer window
tommy craig
I think these two signings may see Beevers used as cover tbh? These guys are clearly championship quality which is what we've needed all season and Beevers has played in the championship and never really stood out? Buxton and Spur at full back and that's a pretty solid championship never mind league 1 defence! Certainly need a couple of midfielders though I think I barely rate any of the ones we have apart from Coke and Miller! Any of the other can go in my opinion, especially JJ! Another striker to add competion for places and I think that would do us for the season!
Owls That!
does anyone know what fees we've paid for Johnson and Morrison then??
Carbone's Padawan
Carbone's Padawan, nothing seen in concrete, just the usual reported nonsense. This says 250,000 for morrison and iv seen various reports for johnson from 150,000 to 300,000, seems to depend on what website you look at.
DEZZYP
best defence would be buxton(otsemebor has gone down in my expextations after huddersfield) johnson morrison jones(think jones is better than spurr). would like charlie austin but think he is going up to championship level
Wednesdayforlife
Apparently about 250,000 for Morrison and don't know about Johnson but Noone went to Brighton for about 300,000 and he was their star winger so I'd guess not near as much for a defender. Probably about 100,000ish.
calton1985
and both should be avaiable for saturday bring it on
Owlet
interesting to see what defence will be think purse and hinds are finished so buxton morrison johnson spurr / jones semi and beef as cover
retfordowl1867
Happy new year to all. been away for a while, can we only sign names we already have (Morrison Johnson )Heard Adam le Fondre has changed his name to Mellor
vic mobley
Isn't it great to be actually signing players other people want using cold hard cash again rather than freebies nobody else wants. How about tying up Mellor on a permanent deal and bringing in a decent right back, another midfielder and maybe another striker. Promotion is a must this season so if AI doesn't deliver after MM backs him in the transfer window a p45 may be coming his way.
sussexowl
in regards to a new right back, id like to see that nolan lad we had on loan from preston, thought he was quite impressive during his loan period. the centre of midfield is my big issue, need somebody who will make runs past the strikers every so often, i would have liked to see coke do it a little more than he has.
DEZZYP
Signed!
owlswfc
Has anyone else noticed that he looks black on here but white on the wednesday official site?!?! Good signing though!
Owls That!
Nolan has signed on a permanent deal with Scunthorpe.Heard we paid 150,000 for Johnson and 250,000 for Morrison.
