Owls Back In For Motherwell Defender
Wednesday are back in for Motherwell's highly-rated defender Mark Reynolds, according to the SPL club's boss Stuart McCall.
The Owls had an initial bid turned down according to reports last week, with the figure believed to be £100,000.
But Wednesday are considering upping their offer to get their man, who is out-of-contract at Motherwell in the summer.
McCall told SkySports.com that Wednesday had put a bid to the SPL side before their 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Dundee at the weekend, in which Reynolds played.
Motherwell could well opt to sell one of their key players in the January transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.
Owls boss Alan Irvine has already bolstered his defence with the signings of Michael Morrison from Leicester City and Reda Johnson from Plymouth Argyle in the last week.
Both played in Wednesday's 3-0 FA Cup third round victory over Bristol City on Saturday.
But Irvine seems keen to make it a hat-trick of defensive additions this month in the shape of Reynolds, and it's understood that an improved offer for Reynolds, to tempt Motherwell to sell, could be made this week.
