Mandaric Key In Morrison Deal

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has revelaed that Owls chairman Milan Mandaric played a crucial role in helping to bring defender Michael Morrison to Hillsborough.

Mandaric, of course, supplied the cash to splash on Morrison, who arrived at Wednesday from Championship side Leicester City for a fee believed to be 250,000.

But his help in completing the deal for the former Cambridge United man was more than just providing the money to snap him up.

Irvine told the Leicester Mercury: 'I think Milan managed to do a deal with Leicester that nobody else would be able to do.

'He has strong Leicester links and did the negotiations as far as the clubs were concerned and was very confident the deal would go through.'

The Owls boss will be hoping his new chairman can help even more as he looks to bolster his squad for a push for promotion from League One this season, with more signings expected this month.

Not in a million yrs, From the statement looks like redundentcy! Thought milan or howard said there was going to be a 3 man board?? Interesting to to say the least?

He's bringing his own man in Paul Aldridge, he was with him at Leicester, and also help him with the takeover at Hillsborough. I would like to thank Nick Parker for everything he's done for this club, it's ashame we can't find another job for him to do, good luck for the future Nick.
