Modest Seals Darlington Loan Deal

Young Wednesday striker Nathan Modest has joined Blue Square Premier side Darlington on loan until the end of the season.

The Owls Academy product is expected go straight into Darlington's squad for their FA Trophy clash against Bath City at the Northern Echo Arena.

The 19-year-old has been tipped for big things at Hillsborough but has found first team outings hard to come by.

He's made five first team appearances for the club, all coming in the 2008-09 campaign, but has failed to kick-on.

Owls boss Alan Irvine will be hoping the loan deal gives Modest plenty of first-team experience.

He'll be eligible for the FA Trophy with Darlington and also the end-of-season play-offs, if required.
