Owls Go Weston To Bolster Midfield

Owls Go Weston To Bolster Midfield

Wednesday are understood to be keen on bringing Brentford winger Myles Weston to Hillsborough before the close of the January transfer window.

Owls boss Alan Irvine has been in touch with their npower League One rivals regarding the winger's availability, according to reports in the Sheffield Star and on BBC Radio Sheffield today.

Irvine has already bolstered the Owls' defensive and attacking options this month and is thought to be focusing on Wednesday's midfield.

The 22-year-old winger featured for the Bees in their 1-0 victory over Wednesday earlier this season.

Most of the transfer talk this month has been about players arriving at Hillsborough, but one player who could be heading for the exit door is skipper Darren Purse.

Millwall are understood to be interested in taking the 33-year-old to the New Den this month, and Purse could well be keen for a switch to the team he supported as a boy.

Sorry Mr. Purse I know your heart's in the right place but I think it's best for all if you take this move. Weston could be a good young signing

It is brilliant that all the players we are bringing in are under 23, young players who want to be legends in this new era of SWFC. I cant imagine Lee Hughes is part of that vision. But say what you want about Irvine's tactics, he does seem to be able to spot a player and is good in negotiations. I have heard about this guy Weston, and he would be a brilliant signing!
