Tudgay Injury Blow

Owls striker Marcus Tudgay could face upto three months on the sidelines before the season has even started after fears that he has cut a tendon in is foot at a family barbeque.

The former Derby County man will found out the damage when he goes to see a specialist on Wednesday.

Boss Paul Sturrock will be cursing his look after a series of injuries blighted the Owls' campaign last season. Now it looks like that luck could continue just one week into pre-season training.

Further bad news for Wednesday comes in the form of defender Richard Wood who tore a thigh muscle in pre-season training after missing the final months of the 2005/06 campaign.

New-signing Wade Small from MK Dons also suffered an injury in his first week of training with the club as he picked up a calf injury.

Keep checking Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest updates in the injuries to Marcus Tudgay, Richard Wood and Wade Small.

Terrible news, was really looking forward to seeing this guy next season. Looks like Sturrock may have to dip into the loan market again. Striker is a priority!
