Evans Set To Assist Owls Boss

Wednesday boss Gary Megson is set to name Chris Evans as his new assistant, with the club announcing Rob Kelly and Billy Barr have left Hillsborough.

Kelly and Barr joined Wednesday alongside Alan Irvine in January 2010 and remained at Hillsborough following the departure of Alan Irvine last week.

But with Megson keen to bring in his own coaching team, the duo have today left the club.

Evans, Megson's former assistant at Bolton Wanderers and not the Radio 2 presenter, is set to take Kelly's place and is expected to be confirmed by the club within the next 24 hours.

Megson is also set to bring in a replacement for Barr and is understood to have made an offer to a coach and is awaiting a reply.

Anybody know anything about this Chris Evans chap? I hear that he used to be the academy manager at Wolves but that's it!

He's a DJ on Radio 2. Not sure its a good idea having two people with ginger hair in the same dug out.
