Megson Eyes First Half Rally
Wednesday boss Gary Megson has demanded his players improve their recent poor first-half performances when they travel to Tranmere Rovers tonight.
The Owls have been slow out of the traps in recent matches, something which has left them with an uphill challenge going into the second half of matches.
It was the case at Rochdale on Saturday, with a below-par first-half showing allowed Dale into a 2-0 lead before Wednesday improved after the break and pulled a goal back through Gary Madine - a goal that proved to be too little, too late.
And Megson will be pushing his players to come flying out of the traps at Prenton Park tonight as they look for a first league win since the turn of the year.
'It will be changed (the team) becuase we're not turning up in the first half,' Megson told the official SWFC website.
'What is going on is not palatable and I don't like doing it but I will continue to do so.
'At the moment there are a lot of harsh words being said at half time to get a performance and they are then capable of putting in that performance so what we need to so now is get that in the first half.'
Gary Madine and Isaiah Osbourne, both second-half substitutes in the loss at Spotland, are almost certain to start in Birkenhead tonight, with other changes likely by the Owls boss.
