Grimes Linked With Wednesday Switch

Vital Lincoln City, our sister site, is reporting that Wednesday are monitoring their on-loan striker Ashley Grimes with a view to a possible summer swoop.

The 24-year-old, on-loan with the Imps from Millwall, has scored 11 goals in 16 games in npower League Two and is understood to have caught the attention of a number of clubs with his impressive performances.

Grimes is out-of-contract with the Lions in the summer and his future is uncertain, although a move away from the New Den is expected.

And Wednesday are thought to be amongst the clubs eager to snap him up in the summer when his contract expires.

The Imps are also understandably keen to sign the on-song striker on a permanent basis after helping City move up the League Two table of late and could make a contract offer in the coming weeks.
