Di Piedi Back In England

Former Owls striker Michele Di Piedi is back in England training with League One outfit Teovil ahead of the new season.

The Italian will be hoping to secure a contract with the club as boss Russell Slade takes a look at him during their pre-season tour of Cornwall.

The Italian, who graced Hillsborough with a number of spectacular goals during his time at S6, spent three years with the club scoring seven goals in 10 starts and 34 substitute appearances.

His superb last-minute strike at Birmingham City will be long remembered by the Owls faithful, as he tore his shirt off, placed it on the corner flag, and waved in the air in front of the thousands of travelling Owls fans at St Andrews.

He also wowed the crowds with a fantastic long-range overhead kick against Sunderland in the Carling Cup that saw the Owls progress against Premiership opposition.

Vital Sheffield Wednesday wants to wish Di Piedi all the best in his quest for a club! Maybe he'll come back and visit us in one of the cup competitions? Di Piedi, Di Piedi ole ole ole!
