On-Loan Osbourne Set For Villa Return

On-loan midfielder Isaiah Osbourne is expected to leave Wednesday a month early to return to parent club Aston Villa, according to sources today.

Osbourne was due to return to the Barclays Premier League club at the end of the season after being allowed to move to Hillsborough on loan just days before Alan Irvine got the boot as Owls boss.

But the midfielder is set for an early return, with both clubs expected to announce the news tomorrow.

It's not yet understood whether the early return is through injury, or whether Osbourne doesn't feature in boss Gary Megson's plans between now and the end of the season.

Megson brought Joey O'Brien in on loan from Bolton Wanderers, and he could have arrived to take the place of Osbourne.

The 23-year-old, whose contract is up at Villa Park at the end of the season, made 11 appearances for the Owls, including nine league starts, one substitute appearance and one start in the FA Cup.

Check Vital Wednesday for official confirmation of the early exit tomorrow.

can't see megson wanting rid, better than most of the rubbish we have. He's looked pretty good for the most part. no doubt super houllier will just dump him back in the reserves.

Good decision to send him back. Just as bad as potter and teale. Don't think i've seen him complete a pass in 3 or 4 match's

Not impressed with him, glad to see the back of him. He looked lost a lot of the time no awareness can't see a pass let alone make it! And if Megson can turn the other day into consistency then I wouldn't question this decision because the other day we looked very good in midfield. And how poor did we look in midfield with Osbourne and O'Brien?
