Owls Boss Disappointed With Draw

Wednesday boss Gary Megson was disappointed that his side didn't come away from Walsall with all three points yesterday.

Neil Mellor's 26th-minute strike - his 18th goal of the season - gave the Owls a share of the spoils at the Bescot Stadium after Jon Macken had fired the relegation threatened ahead early on.

But Wednesday carved out the better chances to win the game, most notably through Gary Madine, and the Owls boss felt his side should have returned home with maximum points.

'We had enough chances to win that game and we are disappointed we didn't,' Megson told the official SWFC website.

'Gary (Madine) is disappointed because he feels he could have had a hat-trick but he played very well today and if he keeps playing like that, the goals will come.

'Walsall started the game very well forcing four or five corners. They scored and I think everyone in the ground could see that was coming. But we rolled up our sleeves, recovered well and took the game back to Walsall.'

Megson will now turn his attentions to Monday's visit of another side threatened with relegation in the shape of Swindon Town, and will be calling for his side to add the finishing touch to claim all three points this time.
