Owls linked with Howard signing

Wednesday have been linked with a summer swoop for experienced Leicester City striker Steve Howard, according to media reports today.

Owls boss Gary Megson is thought to be preparing a £300,000 move in the close season, according to both The Mirror and The Sun.

The former Luton Town hitman is falling down the pecking order at the Walkers Stadium under boss Sven Goran Eriksson, following the recent additions of Yakubu and Diomansy Kamara.

He's expected to leave the Championship club in search of first team football at the end of the current campaign and a drop down to League One could be seen as ideal.

It's the second time Howard has been linked with a move to Hillsborough - the hitman could have opted for Wednesday following the Owls' promotion from League One last time.

Howard has still made 34 appearances for the Foxes this season, scoring five times.

errrrrm, Not the worst signing in the world, with him and madine upfront i can't see us playing football like Brazil. Still, him, Madine and hopefully Mellor, not a bad set of options to have. I presume morrison and the hoff will be leaving in the summer so another needed too.

I am guessing you are right DEZZYP. I think Howard would be back up for Madine (a target man). Shame about the Hoff if he does go. I presume M Morrison and Reynolds will go this summer (providing someone will take them)

I think getting a pacey striker is vital this summer, we have missed that this season. Id like to think there are 7 or 8 who will be gone in the summer bluedog.

I'd like him in, would def do a job for us although doesn't offer much variation to Madine or Mellor if he stays. we need to look at some forward players who can stretch the opposition and get beyond them with pace. We also need to look at some creative midfielders as we are sadly lacking in that department.

Will Hoskins is who we need to compliment Madine/Morrisson/Mellor (or any other strikers we have/buy beginning with 'M') Like DEZZY says, it will not be like watching Brazil next season but if it gets us out of the league I aint fussed!

After making one appearance for his home-town club Sheffield United, 23-year-old Kyle dropped into non-league with Alfreton Town where he also won England C recognition and eventually became captain of his country. Signed for Crawley in August 2010 and has since formed an impressive partnership with Pablo Mills in central defence. Was the subject of much interest from League clubs during the January transfer window but remains a key member of the squad. Date of birth: Feb 28 1987. Height: 6ft 1in, Weight: 13st 3lb.

ha, i didnt even realise there was such a thing as england c. Will Hoskins isnt a bad shout, had a decent season i think. Still depends if we keep mellor, i have a feeling preston might want to keep him now.

Will we be linked with all Leicesters cast-offs this summer?Might do a decent job for us but isnt very quick, hasnt scored many goals either this season.Perhaps Leicester would take Michael Morrison back as part exchange!
