Knill expects Owls offer for Jones
Scunthorpe United boss Alan Knill says there has been no contact with the Owls over a permanent move for Rob Jones - but is expecting a bid over the coming weeks.
Jones impressed during a seven-week loan spell at Hillsborough, playing a part in guiding Wednesday away from relegation danger and into a safe mid-table position in npower League One.
He's thought to be on a wishlist of nine players that Owls boss Gary Megson wants to bring to Hillsborough on a permanent basis for a push for promotion next season.
And, with the former Hibernian centre-back seemingly surplus to requirements with Scunthorpe, Knill is expecting Wednesday to make an offer for the defender this summer.
'He's done really well there, so I would expect some interest,' Knill told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
'The indication is that they are quite happy with him, so I would expect us to have some sort of communication with Sheffield Wednesday.
'Whether we'll be asking for a fee for him I'm not sure, that's not really my shout.'
The Iron paid an initial £350,000 to Hibs for Jones and they could be looking to recoup some of that, with Wednesday in a position to match their demands thanks to the arrival of Milan Mandaric as chairman.
Megson wants to bring nine players to the club this summer and has revealed that all nine are British players, with six being free transfers and three requiring a fee.
