Owls linked with move for Prutton

Swindon Town midfielder David Prutton is the latest name to be linked with a move to Hillsborough this summer.

The former Leeds United and Nottingham Forest man suffered relegation with the Robins from League One this season but is understood to be on Gary Megson's player hitlist this close season.

The Owls boss has highlighted his midfield as an area that needs strengthening if his side is to push for promotion to the Championship next season.

Prutton hinted his desire to stay at the County Ground, despite the side's relegation, and see out his contract, which runs until the summer of 2012.

But a move to Wednesday, and higher division football, could well prove too tempting for the former Southampton man.

Not a bad player this lad. Wouldn't mind seeing him in the squad actually.

agree on his day a great passer of the ball and more consistant than our entire midfield would be a good addition well scouted meggo

Paul Walker has just tweeted that we're close to signing Prutton and Jones (for what it's worth).

Well... I have no issues with Wednesday be linked to this type of player. If Di Canio is feeling generous and is gonna ring the changes at swindon I wouldn't mind a "BOGOF" deal which included Jonathan Douglas as part of the deal... Similar Pedigree and his consolation goal in the 3-1 was a screamer! I reckon there are many players out there that would love the chance to prove how good they are in the Blue and White!! For a great deal of players it presents a wonderful chance to play infront of an average 17,000 head crowd. With the season we had only to be beaten by the Saints was unbelievable IMMIT

Would prefer Jonathan Douglas over David Prutton if give the choice (which I'm not) because Prutton has a questionable temperament and flares up too often. Hopefully he's mellowing with age!

its' on the official club website 4evaOWL. looked at some of the Swindon supporters feedback and they all seem glad to get shut of Prutton - i'm surprised I always thought he was decent player really.

Cheers Padawan... I know he's a good player! thing is can we get the best out of him!! Lets face it we've proved a good player signed doesn't always translate to a good player on the pitch for Wednesday. If we can have the best out of him then I reckon its a solid signing for Leauge 1... I wish we'd sign Douglas aswell though! UTO
