Mandaric patient in transfer market

Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric will take a patient approach into the transfer market as he aims to bolster Gary Megson's squad for next season.

The Owls have already added David Prutton and Rob Jones to their squad for next season but Mandaric believes it may take some time to complete Megson's new-look squad.

'There have been a lot of conversations between me, Gary and Paul,' Mandaric told the Sheffield Star. 'We are busy, and we have been trying to make approaches for players.

'It's going slowly. A lot of people talk, but there are not so many conclusions. Sometimes a lot more happens towards the end of June.'

The Owls have targeted eight or nine new additions as Megson plans an overhaul of his squad to make a push for promotion in npower League 1 next season.

Mandaric revealed that he's looking at 'six or seven' new permanent additions with 'a couple of loans' bolstering the squad.

But Wednesdayites could well be forced to wait until the end of June, when players are out of contract and free to leave for other clubs, for any further news on signings.

Providing the signings are worth the wait then all is good in the hood!

Strong rumours are Jason Koumas, Nathan Tyson, Adam Le Fondre. I think these would be excellent signings! Good players. Other rumours are players such as Jaidi, McIndoe and Giles Barnes, aswell would be good signings. Looking good!!! :D UTO

Tyson is targeted by clubs in higher leagues so doubt we'll get a look in. Giles Barnes and Le Fondre I like the sound of (providing we get Neil Mellor also). Jason Koumas would be a giant signing in this league but doubt that'd come to fruition in truth.
