Tyson rumours hot up for Owls

Rumours linking Wednesday with a summer swoop for Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson have stepped up a gear this week.

The hitman has turned down a new contract offer at the City Ground and is looking for a new club to start to the 2011-12 campaign with.

Wednesday are understood to be amongst the clubs interested, with Championship, Premier League and SPL clubs also reported to be keen on his services.

The former Wycombe Wanderers frontman will be keen to play at the highest level possible but the option of regular first team football at Hillsborough could prove an advantage for the 29-year-old.

Tyson will also know Owls boss Gary Megson well. Megson took him to Forest from Wycombe in 2005 and will know if the qualities he can offer to his side.

This would be a cracking signing, just cant see him coming to us think he could play at Championship level and other clubs in that league will be in compeition for his signature however with Megson and Manderic in charge anythings possible. My fingers are firmly crossed.

Another quality player Megson would be mad to not look at who is currently out of contract is Craig Davies at Chesterfield. Prolific last season in League 2 and his actual play in front of goal is leathel well worth a look. I know many may say... fair point but can he do it in League 1. I say but well worth a gamble if its even classed as a gamble !! UP THE OWLS !!

Agree with Carbone's Padawan completly, not a hope in hell. Can't afford what forest probably offered him and he won't drop back down to league 1, not even worth mentioning it anymore.

Tyson, Koumas etc are the kind of players I would LIKE to see us linked with but I am a realist and know that these are the kind of players who wont want to be linked with us! If it happens great, if not its not the end of the world? Would rather take a guaranteed punt on someone a bit younger and who isnt likely to bail ship at the first opportunity!
Owls That!

We havent got a hope in hell of getting Nathan Tyson. If he has rejected a new contract at Forest then I assume that he will be signing for another Championship side (probably Derby).Love to see him in the famous blue & white shirt, but lets face it.Its not gonna happen.

s5owl, he will have been offered decent championship wages at forest, which he turned down. Milan has already said he wants to keep a reasonable wage structure, which wont include offering more money than a championship club for a striker as ollyowl70 pointed out, has had injury troubles. If you think he's going to throw millions on players this summer you will be very disappointed.

Like Tyson. But with Championship clubs linked as well I doubt he'll be at Hillsborough regardless of what we offer him.

would be quality signing but agree he wont end up at s6

It would be a little easier to dream this dream if Tyson were 19-25 years old, but at 29, I reckon he'll want to play at the highest level possible. But, hey... there's nothing wrong with shooting high.

We can only hope of signing players like Tyson and Koumas once back in The Championship and have to lower our sights just a little so we don't lose out on potential targets that get snapped up by other clubs while we try to compete with clubs in higher divisions for players we probably won't get!

I'm not, like any of us, expecting Milan to 'throw millions' at the playing budget, but clearly it should be healthy enough to sign him. I have a good feeling about Tyson. Not as much about Koumas etc, but hey - let's have a bit of optimism. When we get linked with average players we all moan, when we finally get linked with some quality what do we all do? still moan. have a bit of hope.

well you never know s5owl, fingers crossed we might just end up with the odd surprise. Not sure if people have just put 2 and 2 together with Koumas and Tyson seeing as Megson has paid money for them both in the past, but Koumas for me would be a brilliant bit of business.

Got to agree with s5owl. Lets all keep the faith and believe in what could be a brilliant season ahead. After all, we could be chasing the bertie rejects.

We had a chance of getting Tyson a few years back....funny, at the time we were a bigger club than Forest. How times have changed!!!

nice to be linked with him, hope they can pull it off. would be one hell of a coup if Prem and top Championship clubs are looking at him. Our offer is to play, i would rather earn the same or more with my feet up but then that is probably why I am better at football on FIFA than i am on the pitch
