Owls target Everton starlet Wallace

Highly-rated young Everton midfielder James Wallace is a target of Owls boss Gary Megson this summer, according to reports.

Megson has planned to make big changes to his squad over the close season, with up to nine new arrivals expected at Hillsborough with the aim of achieving promotion next term.

And the 19-year-old Everton midfielder, who spent the end of last season on loan with Stockport County, is on his wanted list according to the Sheffield Star.

Wallace is highly-rated at Goodison Park and he's just penned a new one-year deal with the Premier League club, meaning Wednesday would have pay a transfer fee for a permanent switch.

It could mean the Owls opt for a season-long loan swoop with the option of a full deal at the end of the campaign.

The midfielder may have suffered relegation with Stockport from League 2 last season, but he received glowing reviews for his performances and also captained the side.

He's made one senior appearance for Everton, in the Europe League, and has been called up for the England U19 and U20 squads.

A loan looks possible on this one. Spent some of last season in League Two so the natural progression is to spend some of next season in League One. Sounds like an attacking midfielder with energy and promise which we seriously need - someone who will break past Madine and offer support!

never heard of him starting to get bored of links now what some deals other clubs are already signing players

I can't see there being much harm in getting him. I doubt we'd have to pay much wages-wise, so why not?

Would be happy with this! Mego has an eye for young up and coming players i.e. Cahill. Young, looking to prove himself so why not!
Owls That!
The trouble is that alot of players are still on holiday at the moment, and players will still be under contract till the end of the month, thats why we are not signing people at the moment. Did hear today that our new shirt sponsors are a local company called Elecsave.
