Owls bid for Daggers winger rejected

Wednesday have had a bid turned down for highly-rated Dagenham & Redbridge winger Danny Green, Vital understands.

The 22-year-old is rated amongst the best young talents in the lower leagues, with a number of Championship clubs understood to be keen on a summer swoop for the Daggers man.

The Owls are understood to have made a bid for the midfielder today, one which has been turned down by the London club.

But Wednesday are expected to return with an improved offer to get their man.

Owls boss Gary Megson has drawn up a shortlist of around nine players he wants at Hillsborough next season to bolster his squad for a promotion push in npower League One.

Green is a player Wednesday know all about having come up against him twice last season.

would be a good signing
mick66owl
Just looked him up on Wikipedia and he got into double figures for both goals AND assists in League One last term. That in itself for a relegated club is a great achievement!

is he in a contract or what

He'd be a very good signing he's already streets ahead of our current wingers, it would be about time we had a winger who not only chips in with goals but provides some assists and crosses for the strikers. If he can do that in a relegated and unfashionable team then he might excel in the blue and white stripes. And give the likes of Madine the ammunition they need. Get him signed up Wednesday :D

lets get back in there with a new bid would be a decent signing and a winger who can cross a ball we have'nt had anyone who can cross since esajas as bad as he was

Let's get back in there with an improved bid before he gets snapped up by someone else! For a team now in League Two they can't be expecting too much for him?! With Madine in the side and Megson preferring to favour big men up top then we certainly need players who can put the ball into the box with a little quality, plus chip in with their fair share of goals too!

Says it all about the state of our current squad. I saw this lad rip our left back Reynolds to bits at Dag Red end last season that was last time Reynolds played maybe ever for us simply run rings round him all afternoon.
