Town striker Scotland linked with Owls
Ipswich Town striker Jason Scotland is the latest name to be linked with a summer move to Hillsborough.
The 32-year-old former Wigan Athletic and Swansea City man could be deemed surplus to requirements at Portman Road following the addition of Michael Chopra.
The news has caught the attention of Wednesday, according to reports today, who could be weighing-up a bid for the Trinidad and Tobago international.
Owls boss Gary Megson is keen to bolster his squad following a season to forget last term and a striker is high on his priority list.
Megson is keen to bring Neil Mellor back to Hillsborough on a permanent basis but Preston are understood to be keen to hold on to the former Liverpool man, who impressed on loan with the Owls last season.
It means the Owls boss will have to turn his attentions elsewhere to boost his attacking options and Scotland is one option.
The striker has a year left on his contract at Portman Road after signing for Ipswich last summer so would command a fee, and is expected to be on relatively high wages.
Scotland made 45 appearances for the Tractor Boys last season in all competitions, netting ten goals.
