Owls set to miss out on Daggers man

Wednesday are set to miss out on Dagenham and Redbridge midfielder Danny Green after the Daggers accepted a bid from an unnamed Championship club.

The Owls have been chasing the highly-rated midfielder this summer and were expected to return with an improved bid after seeing an initial offer rejected.

Peterborough United and Charlton Athletic were also linked with his services and it could well be Posh, promoted to the Championship this season, who have seen their offer accepted.

Darren Ferguson's side had seen two offers knocked back by the Daggers but were set to return with a higher offer such is their interest in getting their man.

Green netted an impressive 13 goals for Dagenham last season despite the side suffering relegation to League 2.

Owls boss Gary Megson will have to turn his attentions elsewhere to bolster his midfield if the talented Green moves to the unnamed club.

well done wednesday, slow again!! whats this about madine being arrested on an arson charge aswell???
There you go smiggy-
never thought we'd get him anyway there are other options still jimmy ryan and myles weston were linked
Why can't we just match the offer? Surely Wednesday had more potential for a young lad than Peterborough who'll probably just end up back in L1 without Mackail-Smith and Boyd.
We might only have one striker then if madine gets locked up, judge warned him last time he was in court didnt he !!
Madine hasnt been charged, there is a big difference. Only been arrested which means suspected and brought in for questioning, if they had real evidence they would have charged him by now. Innocent until proven guilty.
He does seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sort it out Madine!
Is it just me who doesn't think madines that good anyway
Radon Barrier
madine is obviously thick if he was involved. an arson attack! lets have a think, you're 20, you've got a professional football career at a still respectable club and if you have a decent season anything could happen so lets go out and light a building up cos there isn't anything better to do! a shame we paid money for him because we can't really afford to sack him now if he goes down the line
Hirsty's Shinpads
your right Radon I dont rate him either
The most likely to score of the strikers but if we didn't have him I wouldn't be disappointed put it like that! Not seen him have a full season at the club so I will reserve judgement for now? Still a tool if he's getting involved with lighting up houses!
Owls That!
Milan comfirmed Scotland interest,see star.
I actually like the look of him, led the line very well on his own with very little support. Think we have a decent player. im not going to lay into him for arson until its been proved and found guilty.
Agree with Hirstys Shinpads,Madine must have a screw loose to get involved with arson. Agree hes innocent until proven guilty but theres no smoke without fire,if you excuse the pun!
leons gloves
There has to be some substance there with Madine and the arson attack or they wouldn't have arrested him. I'm sure none of us have ever been arrested for that?! He needs to grow up and realise what he's got and knuckle down. As for Scotland, so long as we don't pay too much in fee or wages he would be good for 2 years.
I think Scotland would be worth a shot, he was league 1 top scorer in all compo's during 2007/2008 with 29 goals. hey why not sign mellor too as he netted 20 lsat season. get your chequebook out milan and give us something to smile about.
According to talksport its a two way fight between us and Ipswich for Koumas. May be close as we have let Potter go by mutual consent.
