Megson: Milan key in any Dyer deal

Owls boss Gary Megson has confirmed his interest in Leicester City winger Lloyd Dyer and Nottingham Forest's Julian Bennett.

Vital reported that Wednesday had been linked with both players this summer but the Owls boss has now confirmed his desire to bring them to S6.

And Megson has revealed that Owls chairman Milan Mandaric will play a big part in bringing former MK Dons man Dyer to Hillsborough.

He told the Sheffield Star: 'Milan has really good contacts at Leicester; it's with Milan to see if we can get any further with that.'

Mandaric has already seen the arrival of defender Michael Morrison from the Foxes since his arrival as chairman and will do all his can to add Dyer's services this summer.

On Bennett, Megson told The Star: 'I've seen that Bennett might be available. I took him from Walsall to Forest. I like him as a player. His position is one we're looking to fill.'

The Owls boss is looking to speed up the signing process now that a number of players have been released by the club, most recently winger Gary Teale who left Hillsborough by mutual consent and penned a two-year deal with SPL side St Mirren.

It's understood Wednesday could well add to the signings of David Prutton and Rob Jones next week.

if Sedgwick is not a deal breaker maybe they would take clinton aswell I'm sure Milan could collect a highlight reel from his birmingham days and convince them it was an old wed shirt??

I would say Milan is key in ALL our deals and not just the Dyer one. If the Scotland shenanigans is anything to go by who knows who will be making our signings this summer, GM or MM. I wonder how many of the January signings were actually driven by Irvine considering he was swept aside swiftly no sooner had the signings been made?!
