Town yet to receive Owls' Scotland offer

Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed the club has yet to receive any offer from Wednesday for striker Jason Scotland.

Owls chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed Wednesday's interest in the Trinidad and Tobago international but has yet to lodge a bid for the experienced hitman.

On Wednesday's interest in the 32-year-old, Jewell said: 'That's news to me. I had no idea of interest in him from Sheffield Wednesday.'

Scotland is deemed surplus to requirements at Portman Road after the Tractor Boys signed Michael Chopra and Nathan Ellington this summer and are still looking for a third attacking option following the departure of Connor Wickham to Sunderland.

Mandaric has already confirmed the former Swansea City and Wigan Athletic man is one of Megson's targets this close season, saying: 'We are interested in him and we are trying to see what can be done.'

Not much has been done yet by the sounds of things, but transfer activity could hot up in the next week following the start of pre-season training.
