Rochdale hitman O'Grady on Owls' radar

Wednesday are understood to be interested in bringing Rochdale striker Chris O'Grady to Hillsborough this summer.

Owls boss Gary Megson has a new striker high in his wishlist ahead of the new League One campaign and O'Grady is one of his targets.

Preston striker Neal Mellor, who impressed on a season-long loan at S6 last season, is Megson's number one target but the Wednesday boss won't wait around for the Liverpool Academy product.

O'Grady has already been linked with a move to Wednesday in the close season but the interest could hot up as Megson aims to get his new-look squad together sooner rather then later.

The former Leicester City man excelled for Rochdale as the Spotland club just missed out on the play-offs last season and can play up front on his own or as part of a front three.

Tall, quick, skillfull, would be a terrific signing. one of those players like holt, Lambert, dagnall and le fondre who struggled a bit, went to rochdale, never looked back and went on to better things.

Sign him and give him a shot before some one else does and gets the rewards. He's just what we need. Not players at the end of their careers. Someone young and hungry. Up the Owls! Looking forward to the season!!!

I said this in jan, be a crackin player for us. Exactly the type we need. Hungry players with a point to prove. Not clinton morrisons, sedgewicks and teales

If we have Madine AND O'Grady at the club then we're definitely going to need better quality wingers than we do now.
TheMightyBoosh
Agreed Boosh. Is o'grady really THAT good?

Don't rate him. Bit of a donkey. Think we could get a lot better. Majority of his goals have come in League 2 (Rotherham & Rochdale) so very unproven in League 1 to say he's 25.
SheffWed93
Morrison's aiming for 20 goals this season, may I suggest he starts aiming for the goal first, that would be a good start!
sussexowl
he's very proven in league 1, he was very good last season playing on the left wing. people saying he isnt that good or is a bit of a donkey clearly havent watched him.
