Dyer 'wouldn't entertain' Owls move

Leicester City winger Lloyd Dyer has revealed he 'wouldn't entertain' a move to Wednesday this summer and is keen to stay with the Foxes.

The former MK Dons winger is on Owls boss Gary Megson's list of transfer targets this clsoe season but any move for the 28-year-old now looks in doubt.

Dyer is likely to find himself limited in terms of first-team appearances at the King Power Stadium next season as City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson splashes the cash in a bid for promotion next season.

But he's keen to fight for his place and wants to start the new season as a Fox.

'I don't want to go anywhere,' he told the Leicester Mercury.

'This is my club. I can't see why I would go anywhere else, especially when there are exciting times ahead.

'I have had no contact from Sheffield Wednesday and I wouldn't entertain that either. No-one has approached me.'

Megson was hoping Owls chairman Milan Mandaric could use his links with his former club to secure a deal for Dyer, but he may now need to turn his attentions elsewhere.

Fair enough - let's move from this now and bring in someone else and sharpish! Not keen on us continuing to engineer a move when the player isn't interested!

Could be a bluff to encourage Wednesday to make a move, very easy to dismiss something that hasn't actually happened, may be a different story if something concrete was offered!! Very happy with new arrivals so far but would like another 4 if I'm honest inc. a couple of strikers, a winger and creative midfielder.

good call sussex owl- would like to see the same. Mason from Plymouth would've been a great shout but he's a Bluebird now.

see Ipswich have signed Lee Bowyer, that could mean there not interested in Koumas.

Sussexowl has a point, but I'm with TheDon1974 and tarnyowl. If Dyer has a change of heart, great, but I won't hold my breath and would rather look elsewhere, at this point in the game. I'd rather have players who are keen to wear the blue and white and bring this club back to where it needs to be, not checking the want ads on their mobiles at halftime.

Don't worry about the goals boys on the OS Clinton is saying he's gunna get us 20 this season! He can certainly talk the talk time for him to walk the walk, or walk...

I seem to recall him saying something similar last season, along with getting us promoted. I wish he would walk the walk....straight out of Hillsborough!

Agree with tarnowl,if he would rather sit on bench all season at Leicester then let him.We only want pleyers who are going to put 100% in every game.As regards Clinton getting us 20 goals,he talks a great game but rarely delivers.Hope he proves me wrong but I doubt it.
