Owls and Blades set for joint sponsor
Wednesday and United are set to share shirt sponsors for the very first time, with a sponsorship deal with Westfield Health and the Gilders Group to be announced.
Two of Sheffield's biggest firms have agreed deals with the npower League One duo and will have identical logos on both clubs' shirts next season, according to an article today in the Yorkshire Post.
The rumour was mentioned some weeks ago and is set to be confirmed within the next 48 hours - just in time for the launch of Wednesday's new home shirt on Sunday.
It will be the first time the Steel City clubs have shared sponsors, but it won't be the first time such a deal has been in place with British football clubs.
Glasgow clubs Rangers and Celtic have a joint deal with Tennent's and have also shared Carling as their shirt sponsors.
The deal is believed to be worth a six-figure sum to both clubs.
Wednesday had donated their shirt sponsorship to Sheffield Children's Hospital for the last two years, while the Blades had been sponsored by the Maltese Tourism Authority.
Wednesday released their new away shirt with no sponsor and the front, with fans being able to return to the club shop to have the new sponsor placed on the front once confirmed. The new home kit is launched at an open day at Hillsborough on Sunday.
The sponsorship deal is expected to be announced within the next 48 hours.
