'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Need A Keeper!

The result of the latest poll shows that Owls fans are convinced a new keeper is the priority. A whopping 74% of you reckon that's what is needed, with only small numbers saying priorities lie elsewhere.

Unfortunately the latest news from S6 doesn't give us any hope, Paul Sturrock admitting that it isn't likely that Scott Carson will join from Liverpool. Carson is apparently keen to return, and Liverpool have not said no, but Chris Kirkland has left the Reds for Wigan and Jerzy Dudek seems to be a permanent 'want-away'.

Plan A was to sign him, Plan B was to wait until he became available, so now it's Plan C for the management, and looking at other options. Adamson has reportedly done well on the US tour, but he isn't the choice of either Sturrock or the fans.

When news isn't good, it's generally not the best idea to put up a new poll asking where the Owls will finish this season, but that's what I've done.

To be fair, the 'where do we need to strengthen' poll was started a long time ago... as the weeks and the Carson story rolled by, the answer was clear.

I couldn't agree more with coppel, spot on assessment, I now have fingers and just about everything it's possible to cross crossed, our season rests on the choice of keeper.

Marshall, no thanks. He had a great game against Barca a couple of years ago, that's it since then he's not been very good. Someone like Warner or Poom would be much better.

The latest link i've heard (on messageboards) is with Wigan's Pollit. Not sure what to make of it to be honest, did make mistakes last year.
