On-song Owls tame Tigers

Wednesday saw off local Evo-Stik Premier League side Worksop Town 3-0 in a pre-season friendly today.

Goals from Lewis Buxton, Gary Madine and Mark Beevers gave the Owls victory at Sandy Lane as Wednesdayites caught their first glimpse of Gary Megson's new-look side.

The Tigers, who ply their trade in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, three steps below the Football League, gave Wednesday a good test in their first domestic pre-season friendly.

All four of Wednesday's summer signings to date - Rob Jones, David Prutton, Julian Bennett and Jose Semedo - got run-outs as Megson fielded a strong side for the clash.

Buxton headed Wednesdau ahead early on before Madine double the Owls' advantage before half-time and Beevers completed the tally in the second half.

thought we looked solid throughout prutton looked class madine,s goal was a rocket and jj seems to know how to cross now desperately need a right winger and a striker morrison tries but just not good enough but the banter we had with him was brilliant

A win is a win but it's all about fitness levels at this stage of the campaign. Any injuries picked up does anyone know?

...so.................. we linked with anyone else yet then?? dunno if GM should've gone public about his frustration in the transfer market. don't think MM would've liked that.

You and me both and it's so funny that The Pigs were the club they were looking to buy!

Morrison would not score 20+ goals if he played for Worksop in the Evostick league!
