Mandaric hopeful on Batth deal

Mandaric hopeful on Batth deal

Milan Mandaric is hopeful Wednesday can bring Wolves defender Danny Batth back to Hillsborough next season.

The centre-back has been on Gary Megson's summer wishlist to bolster his squad and Mandaric has told BBC Radio Sheffield that talks are on-going with the Barclays Premier League club over his services.

Batth has started pre-season with Wolves while their manager Mick McCarthy assesses who he wants to keep at the club for next season.

The youngster is seen as one for the future at Molineux and McCarthy doesn't want to let Batth go permanently, with a season-loan loan at Hillsborough the likely outcome.

He's in action for Wolves at Shrewsbury tonight be he could well be a Wednesday player early next week.

But Wednesday have suffered a number of set-backs in the search for players to strengthen their squad this summer and won't be counting their chickens over a deal to sign Batth just yet.

I won't believe anything until it's happened. Mandaric has been hopeful on Mellor deal for over a month now!

I personally think that Batth will end up in the Championship on loan next season.

wouldnt be so sure about him going to a championship club, we have a big advantage because he is always talking to Jon Ostemebor, Liam Palmer, Giles Coke, Clinton Morrison and Richard O' Donnel on twitter and he is always playing them on fifa so he is good mates with some of the team.

Yep - agree with this. League 1 Clubs will always attract league 1 standard players no matter what your history is. If MM can attract players outside this boundary then it shows he working hard. Proven by the young Irish lad were watching. Looking forward to the season now. UTO
