Wednesday secure Uchechi loan deal

Wednesday have signed Nigerian striker Daniel Uchechi on loan until January from FC Dender.

The 21-year-old forward has impressed Owls boss Gary Megson during a trial at Hillsborough and could sign permanently if he shines during his loan stint.

Uchechi was on-loan at Leicester City last season but failed to break into the first team and has also been on the books of Charlton Athletic and West Ham United.

He will wear number 27 and could feature for the Owls in tonight's Carling Cup clash against Blackpool at Hillsborough.

Owls boss Megson has been looking to bolster his attacking options and is pleased with the deal.

He told the official SWFC website: 'There were one or two other clubs interested in Danny from a higher level so I am pleased to bring him to Wednesday.

'He has good feet, good pace and can get a goal.

'He did well with us while he was on trial for a week so while I cannot commit to a permanent contract on that basis, he has a chance on loan and we can take it from there.'

Any idea what this chap is like? Can he play on the wing? Our signings are just like busses, we wait for ages and then two come along at once!

Maybe like buses but we know nothing about this lad. On O'Grady I'm unconvinced but here's hoping that he proves me wrong. Still need a goalscorer and that has to be more of a priority than a winger.

Megson seems to know what he is doing. Hope this guy is as good as others he has brought in, and bags a hat~trick tonight. Then maybe a loan deal could lead to a permenent deal. FOREVER OPTOMISTIC ! ! !

Seems like a top talent who's taken his eye off the ball the last year or so. Just need Megson to get the best out of him if he signs

the thing is with this, is that megsons had a chance to sign 2 players from having them on trial and didnt do it because of past experiances, so this lad must have something about him if hes took him on loan with the possibilty of a permanent move. in megson and mm I TRUST!!!! on the match tonight not bothered would rather have fully fit players for saturday and bag another 3 points, but still c'mon boys!!!!

Even the bolton fans - who are now way too big for their tin pot boots - admit that meggo can spot a good player so fingers crossed.
