Owls drawn at Blackburn in cup

Wednesday will travel to Premier League side Blackburn Rovers in the second round of the Carling Cup.

The draw took place live on Sky TV immediately after the Owls booked their place in the hat for the draw thanks to a penalty shoot-out success against Blackpool.

Rovers will be big favourites to progress in the competition and it'll be a tough test for Owls boss Gary Megson and his men.

Wednesday were an unseeded team going into the draw and were pre-drawn as an away team before the main draw took place.

Elsewhere, there will be a Yorkshire derby after Leeds United were drawn at Doncaster Rovers while Sheffield United visit Everton and Exeter host Liverpool.

Matches will take in the week commencing August 22.

Could see us winning this too to be honest!? With our first choice eleven it would be a good test for them! People like Prutton might want to prove they've still got it and Baath will want to show McCarthy he can cope at that level! If they won it'd be a massive confidence booster to take in to the league and if they lost it wouldn't really matter all round! Again, if we win, great but if we lose I really couldn't care less!!
Owls That!
Hope GM picks a side capable of causing an upset. They'll be coming off a defeat at Villa and have one eye on Everton at home. We'll have Scunny at home and hopefully three full days to prepare. The fans will travel so let's go for it!

Mad for it! Actually think we've got a shot - if we play the first team............
