New Blow For Drew

Young Owls striker Drew Talbot will remain sidelined until September after scans confirmed the 20-year-old has a knee cartilage injury.

The former Barnsley trainee hoped to play some part in the Owls pre-season trip of North America and friendly matches on home soil in a bid to be fit for the start of the new Championship campaign.

But specialists today confirmed Owls boss Paul Sturrock's worst fears with the news that Talbot will be ruled out for around six weeks.

Talbot's last match in an Owls shirt came over a year ago when he scored the final goal in the Owls' 4-2 victory over Hartlepool United in the League One play-off final at Cardiff.

With Marcus Tudgay also sidelined for 2-3 months it means the Owls boss may be forced to look in the loan market for a new striker to boost his options in attack. David Graham has been loaned out to Bradford City today leaving Steve Maclean and Deon Burton as the likely starters for Wednesday in their Championship opener against Preston on Saturday August 5.

Have you heard the rumor that Chelsea is buying Freddy Adu and loaning him to your club for the 1st ½ of the season?
USA

USA: best to stick to that funny game baseball.. a bit like the girls game rounders.. or American football where the fragile old dears that play it need padding and helmets. You know it makes sense: a sport that Americans can actually win. It's the easy option to pick Chelsea, isn't it? Here's a tip: once Abramovitch is arrested for illegal activites, you'll should be a Real Madrid fan.
