Lowe and Kasnik confirmed - who next?

As reported on Vital Wednesday, the Owls confirmed the signings of David Kasnik, on loan, and Ryan Lowe, from Bury, yesterday - will more follow today?

The transfer window closes at 11pm tonight, although clubs will have the chance to sign players on loan when the loan transfer window opens.

There will no doubt be a rush of signings around the Barclays Premier League and Football League before tonight's deadline - but will there be any more ins and outs at Hilsborough?

Owls boss Gary Megson has already confirmed that former Newcastle United and Portsmouth forward Lomana Lualua is in talks about a potential move to S6.

Lualua is without a club at the moment, meaning, as we understand it, that he isn't restricted to having to sign before tonight's 11pm deadline. A deal doesn't have to be rushed through.

Megson has also hinted that some players could be moving away from the club. Defender Mark Beevers, despite playing in last night's JP Trophy game at Bradford City, has been linked with a loan switch to Rochdale.

Beevers seems part of Megson's future plans, with the Owls having rejected an approach from Barnsley over the summer, but at the moment is down the pecking order, especially considering David Kasnik's arrival on loan.

A temporary switch to Spotland could be seen as beneficial for his development, which has somewhat come to a halt over the last year or so.

Daniel Jones and Reda Johnson have also been linked with moves away from the club, both on-loan and permanently.

There could also be some surprises in store - it is transfer deadline day after all, a day that is one of the biggest news days in the English football calendar.

Please Dan Jones leave. Who would have him though. Terrible signing in first place

On the subject of players good to see these two ex-owls are still capable of idiocy after leaving Wednesday. Boy did my eyes light up when I read the name Leon Clarke. Wonder why they had been making the little pudding run so much?http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14726229.stm

I thought the window closed for free signings today too, and then re-opens when the loan window does. So we would have to wait a week before rekindling negotiations with LuaLua

Didn't see either of those two coming to be honest but now I know why. Anyone else out there daft enough to buy the Argos deluxe crystal ball (with stand) try and get a full refund before it's too late. As for the ToysRus 'Junior Clairvoyant' kit? Well at least I'll get to wear the cape and pointy hat with stars and crescent moons etc around Hallowe'en time. Up the Owls!

Some owls fans have got very short memories, rewind 1 year and we were well and truly up the creek without a paddle with the very real threat of admin which would have seen us in the 4th tier of English football. MM saw the potential in the club and saved us and now less than a year later some owls fans are criticising him, that's gratitude for you. We are far better off now than a year ago (and probably for 15 years) and some fans would do well to remember that. So what if Lowe is the wrong side of 30, he is the most prolific marksman in the football league and would give us at least 2 or 3 years service and his record suggests plenty of goals, along with madine and o'grady we've got a front 3 most teams at this level would die for. I suppose it's 4 with CM but my argument is weakened if I include him so I'll stick with the 3.

Sussex look mate i see what your saying but he said that he would spend the cash and bring in the players we needed well others have spent less and are doing better that us take the pigs for one (god it took a lot to say that) i just feel we could have done more to get mellor and alf and why did they let beevers go for gods sake. Lwe can score goals i agree but long term not at almost 33 mate. lets hope i have eat a big slice of hubble pie (i hope so) U.T.O
