Lowe set to miss MK Dons clash

New Owls signing Ryan Lowe is set to miss Saturday's npower League One clash against MK Dons at Hillsborough due to an ankle sprain.

The striker, who signed for Wednesday from Bury last week, came on as a substitute to make his debut in Monday night's 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic.

But he saw that cut short early in the second half when he was replaced by Clinton Morrison after suffering an ankle injury.

And, although the injury isn't as bad as many feared, Lowe will have to wait to make his home debut with Owls boss Gary Megson not risking him for tomorrow's game against the Dons.

The news means Morrison is likely to return to the starting eleven alongside Gary Madine in the Owls attack.

Okay, so it looks like Clinton will get the chance to prove it's not all talk. I hope he bags a hat-trick, but I'd still have him on the bench when everyone else is fit. Impact sub. Just what opposing defenders don't need with twenty minutes to go. A former full international with the hump!

I'd quite like to see uchechi given a run out up front... just to see what he can offer. Clinton can always come on for him if there's no spark up front and make the difference later on in the game. Sitting on the bench is good for Morrison especially with only the two strikers fit... he plays on his attitude and sitting and watching winds him up good and proper!! UTO

Agree with retfordowl1867,lets have Uchechi on the bench and give him a good 30 mins at least. Lets see what the lad can do in a proper game instead of meaningless matches like JPT. The curse of the blue/white strikes again. Lowe injured in first game, same with OGrady,it could only happen to us.

JJ would really give the current team something we've been missing and by bothering the opposition he will make it a more pleasant experience for Jemedo and Prutton to play in the center midfield. I really hope he can be a factor this term.

Lol... Owler!! Think Megson has learnt from trying to rush O'Grady back. Thought the fact that the Physio said no but Gary asked O'Grady if he thought he was ready to make a return was laughable. I wonder if the Physio resisted saying "I told you so!"... In regards to letting Uchechi have a run out I'd like to see him have a chance in his proper posistion. I've watched him on the wing and he's not been all that but then I've seen lots of players at Wednesday play poorly out of position. If JJ is ready I'd like to see if we can get what we tried against Charlton to work with JJ and Marshall playing as offensive wingers with a central three including Palmer. However I don't want to try this againt the Dons... 4-4-2 all the way with the best 11 we can field. UTO

A midfield of Marshall - Semedo - Prutton - Palmer - Johnson I like the sound of that. If we can get O'Grady fit and by that I mean when the physio says (Megson you dickhead) he could play the lone striker role. I don't think Clinton would do a bad job of that either. I think we need to sign another offensive winger because for all his effort and looking good in pre-season Sedgewick is more a defensive winger. Palmer and Lines to battle it out for who plays in the hole sounds good.

I think a 4-2-3-1 with JJ and Marshall on the wings would be a really good prospect... If everyone is fit plus it could be swapped to a 4-4-2 with 1 sub as Marshall could play off Madine like he did for spells at their former club!... I think however with Bennie fit again tomorrow Megson will start COD - Buxton, Jones, Batth, Bennett - Palmer, Jesus, Semedo, Marshall - Morrison, Madine. With JJ, Reda and Lines on the bench. I only get truly nervous nowadays when JOC comes on... Think Potter in the middle of the park playing against us with his fellow wolves and youth international counterpart. I would love to see another offensive winger signed to Devon as I think it's where we still have an issue even when everyone is fit. UTO (Has anyone heard if the Koumas thing has died a death??!)

i think we should be playing 2 up front and 2 wingers. be interested to see what johnson has to offer this season as from the comments above it seems i've been watching a different player for the past few years, can't wait for this world beater to return! i was on holiday when O'Grady played and got injured, can't believe that megson overruled his physio. the last time that happened it was when francis overruled alan smith and picked hirst and waddle who also got injured again, but at least francis picked them for a semi final 2nd leg against man u when we were only 1 goal behind
