Clinton Morrison To Leave Wednesday?

Rather than strengthening his front line, it looks like this morning`s signing of David McGoldrick was Gary Megson`s replacement for Clinton Morrison.

Despite scoring 2 goals and enjoying a good partnership with club top scorer Gary Madine it looks like Irish international Morrison no longer figures in Megson`s plans.

umours are circulating that the 32 year old was transfer listed by the club with this leading to Morrison discussing a move to Stadium: MK.

With Chris O`Grady and Ryan Lowe both injured, and McGoldrick short of match practise, time will tell if this move is one that leaves Wednesday light in attack.

Um... How much of this is rumour? It's not as though Clinton's been a beacon of consistency so I can't say I'd be heart-broken to see him go. But if he doesn't go this seems kinda weird, don't you think?

Hope this is not true. Morrison has really put in loads of effort unlike some others

Its in the sun aswell and seen in sky sports news. Fallout? Weird one isn't it, we sign 2 strikers which have lasted 10mins and signed another with little or no match practice or fitness. Nothing ever easy in the blue and White. This would be step backwards in my eyes his link up plays been good with madine and thought they were starting a good striking partnership.

He should put in loads of effort, that's the very least we can expect. I dare say there are few at the club earning more than him, given his career stats etc. But has he delivered? Not last season by his own admission and I can't see him making the side this term when everyone else is fit. So... is dear old Clinton the source of this 'blame culture' we're hearing about? Does GM see him as a disruptive influence in the dressing room? Will we ever know for sure? One thing I will guarantee, he'll play like a flaming superstar for his next club. Players have a habit of making managers look like mugs!

Thought he'd leave in the summer to be honest. Once O'Gradys fit can't imagine he'll be starting and he must be one of the top earners so it makes sense to get him off the wage bill.

i hope he goes he's too high maintenance. that celebration against Charlton sealed it for me. What a tool. You have to show your gaffer respect even if he puts you on the bench.

I think he is a disruptive influence and GM and wednesday are well shot of him. Great win today and sounds like the boys went some way to putting the stevenage performance to bed. I feared the worst at 2-1 having lead but turned it round in the 2nd half, interested to see their 1st goal, sounds controversial and comical at the same time!! Great to see McGoldrick off the mark straight away and seeing Madine notch again, sounds like Marshall was the main provider, love to see him stay.

I like Clinton, but I trust Gary Megson. He wouldn't get rid if it wasn't necessary. In GM we trust!

I wonder if the player who's agent has been getting involved saying his player should always be in the team was Clinton's. He has played ok the last two matches I've seen him in but the rest of the games he's been the Morrison of old. I agree with a lot that has been said above. The Celebration at Charlton did him no good what so ever. He Snubbed the bench, the players and the Manager to run the length of the pitch to celebrate with his mum and by his own admission not the Wednesday faithful. He's always had an attitude and I don't think it's been serving him or us well! As also mentioned though he's likely to be a 20 plus striker when he gets his new club just a final two-fingered salute to the manager. I don't think anyone would have been suprised if he left in the summer and with a loan player covering for the injuries I can't see it being a bad move for the club. How long till the rumours start that in January we'll be bringing Leon Clarke back to the Blue and White... lol UTO

It is the right decision. He never moved in the summer due to his salary as a free signing and his failing pedigree he has turned out to be the top earner at the club it would be safe to say. McGoldrick will only be here for a month then both O'Grady and Lowe will be ready also JJ can fill in so I don't think we will be cuaght short. If we do look like ending up short up front give me a call I'll fill in for Clinton ---------- Andy Mac Scores A Goal Everybody Rock & Roll.

The one thing I would love to see off the back of this is the perm signing from Stoke of the guy we would have been lost without recently. He use to play in the hole behind Madine at their former club and he will be a huge loss in January if we lose him!! I think he's going to cost the club a fair whack but I think he's getting better and better and he's the sort of player we really need! UTO
