Owls to show derby at Hillsborough

Wednesday fans without a ticket for next month's Steel City derby at Bramall Lane can watch the game at a beam back at Hillsborough.

Owls fans snapped up the away allocation for the first derby clash with Sheffield United of the season within days of tickets going on sale.

But those without will be able to catch the action in the comfort of S6 on Sunday, October 16 (kick-off 12 noon).

The idea proved a success last time around, when completed the double thanks to strikes from Tommy Spurr and Marcus Tudgay which saw Wednesday win 2-1.

And it'll be repeated again, with a big screen to be put up on the Hillsborough turn and fans charged £10 adults and £5 concessions in the South Stand and Grandstand.

Tickets can be bought online, in person or over the phone and go on sale to season ticket holders and members on Monday, with general sale on Wednesday, September 28.

Can't united fill the ground since they stopped giving away tickets for free?? It puzzles me why United fans keep making out that their ground is better than hours. Its been modernised more recently thats all. Its still much smaller and nowhere near as well designed. Its pretty desperate that united fans keep pushing this ridiculous point. Doesn't the number of semi finals and internationals tell them anything? Hillsborough is very similar to Villa Park - Is Bramall lane better than that as well. There are 2 types of grounds - the modern oval stadiums and the older piecemeal stadiums - many of which look similar because they were either fully or partly designed the Architect Archibald Leitch - who had a say at both Hillsborough and Bramall lane. The north stand at Hillsborough is still brilliant engineering and receives many plaudits in Architectural circles - such as the Buildings of England. I'm sorry but I think Oakwell is better than Bramall Lane.

In fairness though, they've hosted a lot more county cricket than we have and although it's been a while since my last visit to Villa Park, I thought the view you got as a visiting supporter was rubbish. My only criticism of Hillsborough is the seats on the kop. I know we have no choice but to comply, but in my opinion terraces are ten times better.

My only problem with hillsborough is that they saved £200,000 by putting thoses posts on the Kop instead of going cantilever. And the money they saved they put towards buying Garry Thompson !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
