Bitter Blades midfielder speaks out

Bitter Sheffield United midfielder Nick Montgomery has hit out at Owls midfielder Chris Lines following Sunday's Steel City derby.

Montgomery, United's longest-serving player currently at the club, has slammed Lines for comments after the derby in the tunnel area and on social networking site Twitter.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield: 'I'm disappointed with his comments.

'He came out with a disrespectful comment coming down the tunnel that I heard and found it pretty immature.'

Wednesday came from 2-0 down at Bramall Lane to steal a share of the spoils thanks to late strikes from Chris O'Grady and Gary Madine.

And Lines also wound 'Monty' up with comments on Twitter, when he posted: 'Great comeback today. Shows the spirit we have... deserved all three points #chances. But we'll take the point... dominated for long periods.'

A pretty fair summary from Lines, and nothing really out of character from a player who regularly updates his followes before and after matches.

But Montgomery said: 'To go on Twitter after the game saying he should have beaten us, I'm sure that the occasion just got to him.

'I don't think he's ever played higher than League One and maybe emotions took over him.'

Nothing bitter there then, eh Monty?

So do we want this sad act to scrape a point tonight? Couple sent off? An injury or two? Do we care at all? I'd like to think Huddersfield v. Preston is a bit of a bloodbath too and Charlton v. Carlisle. But I suppose it only really matters what we do and we're fully prepared and properly focussed when Colchester roll up on Saturday.

Hahahaha, this is priceless and real playground antics from little Christopher Montgomery. It's good to see just how much we've got under their skin & how this draw feels like a loss to them. Here's hoping it's completely derailed their season! UTO! FTB!

I can imagine the concept of Twitter going straight over Monty the Mong's head, stringing together sentences as long as 140 characters...

Very clever of Wilson to immediately blame the referee the thick as PIG S@@T Blunts could not see the smoke screen sent out from Wilson to stop the Wilson Out Brigade for a couple more weeks. A defeat tonight will be interesting maybe it was a bit too windy on the M62 !!!!!
