'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The big goal-line technology debate

As posted on the Vital GFE blog >> Click Here.

All a bit distant from grass roots football and Ivory's Great Football Experiment, however I saw this on Vital Man City and was lucky enough to have Tudor give me permission to use.

So, the question, should goal line technology be introduced?

Speaking at the Leaders in Football conference in London, the Chairman of England's Football Association says he expect to win the argument for the introduction of new goal line technology, but implementation looks some way off.

The Premier League have previous stated they are in favour of bringing in goal line cameras but if and when they'll be introduced is anyone's guess.

Our latest poll asks the very question, should we introduce goal-line technology or not?

just can't believe that football hasn't caught up with the other sports and that we don't have it already
The Fear
Seems a no-brainer to bring it in for dubious goals at the least. Can't happen very often so not like it's going to totally change the dynamics of the game.

It'll happen eventually, it's inevitable. Once a foolproof system has been devised that simultaneously feathers Sepp Blatter's nest and protects the interests of his immediate family for all time. Wait a minute, did that sound cynical?
OurMaurice
I am in the minority as the one who is against it. The beauty about the game is all about the arguments and opinions in the pub afterwards. I suppose it is coming but hopefully the reviews should be only about did it cross the line only not for penalty shouts otherwise the games will end up like American Football at leat 2 hours long because cheats in our game will abuse it.
