Megson up for Manager of the Month

Wednesday manager Gary Megson is in the running for the npower League One Manager of the Month award for October..

The Owls boss has guided his side up to third in the table, behind leaders Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town, thanks to four wins, a draw and one defeat throughout last month.

Wednesday kicked-off the month with a 1-0 win at Hartlepool United before victory over Chesterfield at home, 3-1, and a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United followed.

The Owls eased by Colchester United 2-0 before suffering their only defeat at Carlisle United, 3-2. But they finished the month with a 2-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers.

Megson will be up against Charlton's Chris Powell, Huddersfield's Lee Clark and Leyton Orients Russell Slade for the accolade, which will be announced later this week.

Wycombe was our best all round performance but 'Manager of the Month'? After getting sent off for lack of self discipline.... how's that an exmple for Madine?! And why persist with JOC?? Still, 16 games in and t'table doesn't lie. We're passing better, keeping better possession, we're even trying more attacking options instead of relying on set pieces. Win convincingly on Saturday and field the first team in the FA Cup and I'll do everyone on ere a favour. WTID

Oh Megson_Out, please stop with you're ridiculous, anti-GM rants, they're getting old now.

Hes perfectly entitled to his own opinion. I don't see why everyone gives him such a hard time. Hes obviously passionate about the club he just has a different opinion to most. When he was appointed i know loads of people who were unsure about the appointment.

Radon, I have no issues whatsoever with what he says and I'm sure nor do most others. I have issues with his 5hitty name.

3rd in league and people still complain. i just dont get it
mick66owl
Fair enough RRO - but i can't really criticise people for having rubbish names!!!

Bought a poppy Monday (lost it again Tuesday!) because if generations of Owls less fortunate than mine fought n died for owt it was to live in a world where all Wednesdayites are free to express an opinion. Not a bad principle that. And if anyone posting personal abuse can show where I've responded with personal abuse I'll buy yuz a pint. Still not sold on Megson but we're an improvement on the side that got spanked 5-1 and hopefully still improving. The test will be when we lose Marshall.

Best post you've made m-out! But how can you be unhappy, were sat 3rd within striking distance of automatic promotion, unbeaten at home and generating results I just don't get it, the footballs not bad neither, not perfect but it's some of the best I've seen of recent times. I do agree though that if we can't somehow keep Marshall till the end of season or for good it will be a massive loss, just hope mm recognises how food he is and pops up with coin.

No no no Please dont give him manager of the month you know what happens when our manager gets that, wait till end of season so he can receive manager of the season when we win the league

Looking at the results, why would we get rid of JOC? He is part of the winning formula.
