Clark beats Megson to monthly award

Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark has pipped Gary Megson to the npower League One Manager of the Month award for October.

Megson was one of four managers, alongside Clark, Charlton's Chris Powell and Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade shortlisted for the monthly accolade.

But Clark, who yesterday ended speculation linking him with the vacant manager's post at Leicester City, has taken the honour thanks to Town's superb form throughout the month.

It was an awards double for Town, with their striker Jordan Rhodes also picking up the Player of the Month award.

One way of looking at it is that Megson won't have the dreaded 'Manager of the Month curse' upon him for tomorrow's clash against Brentford, for those that believe in it.

I cannot stand Clark, wish he'd have gone to Leicester and failed miserably. Horrible bloke

You've said it all there Nick. That GM was shortlisted for the award is recognition enough. Now Huddersfield have won it let's hope the curse applies!
