Wednesday wait on Madine scan

Top scorer Gary Madine will today undergo a scan on a toe injury sustained in the Owls' 2-1 victory at Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.

Madine was brought off at half-time at Prenton Park due to the injury, being replaced by Ryan Lowe who went on to score the winning goal for Gary Megson's men.

And the Owls boss will be hoping the extent of the injury to the former Carlisle United hitman isn't too bad when they find out the results of the scan later today.

Madine's eleven league goals so far this term have helped Wednesday up to third in npower League One and the Owls could do without him being on the sidelines for too long.

If Madine isn't fit for this weekend's league game at home against Leyton Orient Lowe, who scored the winner on Saturday, is likely to get his chance in attack alongside Chris O'Grady for the second home game on the spin.

I'm confident Lowe and CO'G will produce the goods but we'll need Gary Madine back asap, fully fit and firing on all cylinders. Then there's this mystery loanee, winger or defender? If he materializes he'll probably get a game on Saturday too.

ps. Is it my imagination or have I just read the first positive indication that the club intend to try and keep Marshall, Batth and Bywater beyond their current loan agreements. GM talks about 'moving heaven and earth' and that sounds encouraging to me.

So he's out for six weeks and Buxton a month, just about our luck, i think i could say that these two players are our most improved players of the season so far, lets hope we can keep it ticking over till they return.

Looks like we are signing Sanchez Watt from Arsenal on loan to replace Madine, according to sky sports, top signing Gary, apparently they were lots of clubs after him but he's coming to us.
