Jones set to sit out Orient clash

Wednesday skipper Rob Jones is set to sit out this Saturday's home game against Leyton Orient through suspension.

Jones picked up a yellow card in the 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers at the weekend, taking his tally to five bookings this season meaning he'll be forced to watch Saturday's game in the Hillsborough stands.

He also picked up bookings in the defeats at Carlisle United and Bournemouth, in the draw at Charlton Athletic and in the opening day win over Rochdale.

His absence may mean Wednesday boss Gary Megson moves Reda Johnson to centre back alongside Danny Batth, with Julian Bennett or Mark Reynolds options to fill-in for Johnson at left-back.

But the Owls boss is also keen to bolster his squad options before the loan transfer window shuts on Thursday, and a defender could be on his wish-list.

Far better to miss out on this game than Huddersfield or any over an important and busy Xmas period.
